A Wedding at Graeme Park: Nancy & Ben

We're about mid-way through wedding season here at Graeme Park (we still have a celebration-filled October to go) and it was bound to happen that we'd have at least one rainy reception - fortunately for Nancy and Ben the clouds didn't open up until after they'd finished their ceremony in the woods and cocktail hour and they and their guest were all tucked safely away in the Open Aire Affairs wedding tent.

Guests were greeted by this charming chalkboard sign directing them to the ceremony, cocktail and reception areas of the event, and they even had their own Instagram hashtag set up for guest to share their photos.

A little additional signage pointed guests to the clearing in the woods where the American ceremony was to take place.

The ceremony was staged under a custom-built arch decorated with hanging paper lanterns in different shades of green, which were also the colors of the bridesmaids' dresses.

Those lucky bridesmaids also got to wear sneakers, decorated with hearts, on their feet the entire evening - so perfect for an outdoor wedding, especially once the rain started.

After the ceremony in the woods, family and interested guests were invited to the tent for a traditional Korean ceremony, in keeping with the brides heritage, while hungry and thirsty guests were directed to the cocktail area for butlered hors d'oeuvres and drinks, catered by Joshua's Catering of Jenkintown.

Back in the tent, the tables were set in burnt orange and beige linens, a perfect compliment for fall and the groomsmen's tan suits. Place cards were hand-lettered on slices of wood which tied in with the centerpieces.

Centerpieces were larger wood slices, books carved out for succulent plants and twine wrapped bottles. The table numbers were made from the book pages and for color, there were handmade paper flowers, along with a little bit of baby's breath.

The cake was three square tiers decorated with green leaves in traditional vanilla with fondant frosting.

Joshua's Catering worked hard in the back tent, and even out in the rain washing dishes, to prepare, serve, and clean-up from a sit-down meal for the guests. They had a choice of two meat entrees and a vegetarian pasta, salads and a dessert buffet with various cookies, brownies, lemon  and pecan bars to go along with their wedding cake.

Congratulations Nancy and Ben! Remember many cultures consider it lucky if it rains on your wedding day
